Flora.
The Flora diversity of this municipality is directly related to the topography, the composition of its soil, the regime of precipitations and the climatic characteristics of desert type.
Related to the above mentioned, the classification of the natural resources of vegetable origin is varied; the most important and known are: mangroves which are located along the coasts; in the coastal plain the cacachila, palo verde, wild tambran, lomboy, elephant tree, nectarine, dragon fruit tree, sweet pitahaya, damiana, yellowood, cat´s claw, teasels, biznaga, palo blanco, pau d´arc, rock fig, jarilla, oregano, among others. A variation of trees and bushes from 4 up to 12 meter high forest prevails can be found in the areas 800 meters above sea level, specifically in San Lázaro Sierra.
